An online community dedicated to enhancing your skills in data analytics for sports.

Whether you’re looking to up-skill in data analytics, seek advice on software commonly used in sports, or just want to meet other analysts within sport, the Sports Analytics Academy is for you.

WHY THE SPORTS ANALYTICS ACADEMY?

For the last twenty years, I've been working out how to combine my two passions: sports and statistics. Over the last few years, I've been slowly make that a reality. Having lectured in statistics while working in elite sport as a sports scientist and data analyst, my worlds have slowly collided. 

Through my time consulting across several sporting teams and organisations, there have been two common struggles experienced by staff:

  • A lack of network to ask for advice when stuck in data

  • A lack of sport-specific courses in data analytics and coding

Now I'm setting up the Sports Analytics Academy to help YOU develop the skills and tools I wish I had when I started out to improve your data analytics and provide a community to support one another in that journey.

What does it look like?

  • There are broadly 3 categories to the Sports Analytics Academy:

    1. Community - This is a space where you can ask for advice on your data set-up or seeing if others have faced similar issues with some software

    2. Courses - There will be a range online courses you can enrol in to up-skill in data analytics.

    3. Events - It's planned that there will be regular catch-ups and meetings to meet and learn from other members.

  • There will be a mixture of free and paid tiers. We want Sports Analytics Academy to offer great value for coaches, analysts and performance staff and so to provide a great community, we believe there needs to be some financial commitment by members to get the most out of it.

  • We'd love for you to share the community with others! We can give you a referral link which means you can receive a percent of their subscription as a thanks for referring them!
